As a girl who loves Legos, I have to agree with this.

I worked with those giant, chunky bright-colored blocks when I was little, I made houses, temple-of-doom situations, and several Hogwarts models. I even made a hermione and harry out of the small bricks. They were awesome, although I used most of the pieces on Hermione, so Harry ended up being rather small.

Then, I got into the Harry Potter legoes. I love these sets a lot, and I enjoy re-making them every time we move. Infact, I still have several sets to rebuild this summer.While I waited for more official sets, I recall making my own Burrow and diagon alley out of free-bought bricks and harry-potter pieces.

Eventually, I desired more worlds to tangibly build through Legoes, new sets to work my imagination with.

But there wasn’t anything like Harry Potter. This isn’t just about nothing matching up to harry potter, it was that everything else was very gender-focused towards boys. At the time I was around ten. My mum and I looked for other legoes, but the girl legoes were just dumb, and the only other fantasy legoes we saw at the time were these skeletal war manly-man battle castles. 

Right now, I’d love to get into the architectural Lego, plus Lego Star Wars (ten year old me liked star wars, but wasn’t passionate enough about it to want to own the Lego sets). Unfortunately, the cost of Legoes has risen considerably, and it doesn’t seem worth the investments.

I adore the Lego cities at legoland, but in the actual lego city franchise there is little to do in domestic architecture, or even such venues as a city hall or library. Legoes! Why don’t you sell kits to create actual cities? Do you know how much I would love to build my own lego Venice! I just need you to facilitate me a bit.

Also, I am excited for the Lego Lord of the Ring sets, supposedly coming out this summer. I do hope they make the shire, and especially the elven cities of Rivendell and Lorien.

Rivendell and Lorien are basically what 7-10 year old me always wanted to build, a magical, graceful city, that is complex and beautiful- and not focused on war.

Me now really wants to build them too.
